The third Sussex league fixture returned to the lovely setting in Stanmer Park. Despite illness and injuries our six age groups all held their league positions and at the moment we have 21 different names in five of the teams that have now scored in the first three team places and are in team medal positions with one league fixture to go at Hickstead on the 11th February.

The day started with the popular u/11 races where Rosie Gasson 3rd and Miles Waterworth 4th having very good runs.

In the U/13 girls race it was Rebecca Losh who had another excellent run in 2nd place and was again followed home by Lacey Fowler 7th and Ella Matthews 11th and despite losing by 2 points on the day, they are 37 points clear of the second team. Again there was great back up from the B team with Jess Corbett 13th, Ruby Wilson 15th, Sema Sadatzadeh 21st, Allanah Clayton25th, Scarlett Osborne 27th, Amber Patel 37th and Clem Brown 38th placing 5th team.

In the u/13 boys race with 68 finishers Haiden May had his best race of the season, led the team home in 6th place just 5 seconds behind 3rd place. He was followed home by Will Matthews who is in his first year in the age group in 13th place, with Archie Rowles just behind in 14th just beating Oscar Davies in 15th. They were followed by George Taylor 21st, Ethan Booth who has just turned 11 29th, Josh Pay 32nd and Kit Monti 51st. On the day the team placed 3rd, however they are still 2nd overall in the league well clear of the 3rd and 4th teams.

In the U/15 girls race Lois Dooley who is also in her first year in the age group had another excellent run in 5th and with Amber Wright 11th, Alex Nann 13th, Morgan Thomas 21st and Astrid Blackledge 22nd who's mum Paula and dad Chris both competed in the senior's races which I believe is a first, finished on the day in 3rd place and are still 3rd overall in the league 39 points clear of the 4th team.

In the u/15 boys race it was Max Brazier who led the team home in 10th place, closely followed by Tom Roberts 12th, Patrick Connolly 15th, Henry Taylor 16th and Joseph Luker 27th with the team finishing in 4th place and are also 4th in the league just 7 points behind the 3rd team.

In the u/17 women race Olivia Monk again had another excellent run in 3rd place and with Jemima Edwards 13th and Amy Gamblin just behind in 14th, the team were placed 3rd just 3 points behind Chichester and overall are still second in the league 8 points behind the first team and 60 points clear of the 4th team.

In the U/17 men's race after his second place at Lancing, Tom Eames went one better winning in impressive style and with the ever consistent Tomer Tarragano who repeated his 3rd place, Sam Wilkinson 20th and Sam Kane 21st the team finished 4 points behind Chichester and like the u/17 women are second in the league table.

It was an excellent run meeting many thanks to the officials from Brighton and a big thanks to Keith Donno the organiser.
